The provincial government of Albay (PGA) has started the preparations for an extra-unique Magayon Festival 2023. The Festival will be held on May 8-21.
Magayon Festival Chairman and Board Member Melissa Abadeza-Armedilla said that this year’s festival focuses on promoting the province’s culture and arts, where the PGA is investing P23 million.
At least 31 significant activities will be highlighted during the 2-week celebration including the crowd-drawer, Search for Daragang Magayon 2023.
According to Armedilla, the province expects more local and foreign tourist arrivals to start this last week of April before the grand opening of the Magayon Festival on May 8. Aside from the activities, the forecasted increase of tourist arrivals will happen because of the relaxed COVID-19 pandemic regulations and the revival of the economy.
The official is confident that the reopening of the Magayon Festival will surely benefit the tourism and business sectors in the province, especially restaurants and hotels, after the global pandemic.
