The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol (DOH CHD – Bicol) maintains that the number of positive cases in the Region remains at 67 as the 16 results it received from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) are all negative for COVID-19.
All these samples are referred from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).
It should be noted that all swab samples from the region are now being sent to the RITM because of the damage brought by Typhoon Ambo to the Exhaust Duct of the Biosafety Cabinet of the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL).
Meanwhile, Mayor Mike Guysayko of Bulusan, Sorsogon reported that two individuals repatriated from Manila were tested positive of Covid-19 based on a rapid antibody. The two will be subjected to a confirmatory testing.
Nationwide, the cases of Covid-19 positive individuals further increased to 12,942 according to the Department of Health with 837 total deaths. The Philippines continue to rank third in Southeast Asia next to Singapore and Indonesia.
