13 May Bicol Covid Update: DOH records 2 new cases

The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) reports 2 new cases on Wednesday, March 13, bringing the total number of Covid-19 positive individuals in the region to 64. The newly recorded cases are both health workers. Total number of health workers infected of COVID-19 is now at twenty-two (22).

A 33-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay is the 63rd confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region. He first experienced symptoms on May 3, 2020 and was seen at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on May 4, 2020. He is a close contact of Bicol#46. Bicol#63 is a nurse.

The 64th confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region is a 47-year old Filipino female from Daraga, Albay. She is a close contact of Bicol#36. Patient is asymptomatic. Bicol#64 is a midwife.

Total number of Covid-19 cases in the Philippines, meanwhile, is now at 11,618 with 772 deaths. The country continue to remain third in Southeast Asia in terms of Covid-19 cases following Singapore and Indonesia.
