12 May Bicol Covid Update: Cases remain at 62 with 4 recoveries

As of May 12, 2020 , Tuesday, the Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) reported no new cases of COVID-19 in Region 5. Total number of cases remain at 62 with four on the road to recovery.

Current active cases is now at 18.

The cases whose latest test turned negative are the following:

  • – Bicol #35 (frontliner), a 40-year old male from Legazpi City, Albay
  • – Bicol #41 (Medical Technologist), a 45-year old female from Legazpi City, Albay
  • – Bicol #45 (Physician), a 32-year old female from Legazpi City, Albay
  • – Bicol#46 (Nurse), a 29-year old male from Daraga, Albay.

Patients are for discharge but required to undergo 14-day quarantine and repeat swabbing after 14 days.

On Suspects/Probable

Siilarly on Tuesday, Bicol has thirty-eight (38) suspects, and eight (8) probable. Of the 38 suspects in Bicol, 34 are in Albay, 3 in Camarines Norte, and 1 in Camarines Sur. For probable, 6 are from Albay, 1 in Camarines Sur, and 1 in Sorsogon. Contact tracing as well as expanded testing are continuously being done.

The Philippines now has 11,350 cases with 751 deaths. The country continue to trail Singapore and Indonesia which remain to be the top two countries with Covid-10 cases in Southeast Asia. Singapore has 24,671 cases while Indonesia has 14,749/
