The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) confirmed Thursday, April 30, three (3) new cases of COVID-19 Region 5. The total number of COVID 19 cases in Bicol is now at forty-two (42) with no recoveries noted. Current confirmed cases are ten (10).
The youngest confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region has been recorded today. An 11-month old Filipino female from Ligao City, Albay is the 40th confirmed case in Bicol. A family member has travel history outside the Region. Bicol#40 manifested symptoms on April 20, 2020. She is currently admitted at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH).
The 41st confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol is a 45-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay. She first experienced symptoms on April 25, 2020 and consulted at BRTTH on April 29, 2020. Bicol#41 is a health worker.
Another health worker tested positive for COVID-19. Bicol#42 is a 39-year old Filipino female from Daraga, Albay. Patient is asymptomatic and consulted at BRTTH on April 29, 2020.
In Southeast Asia, the Philippines continue to trail after Indonesia and Singapore. The country’s recorded cases is now at 8,488 with 568 deaths. Indonesia was able to identify a total of 10,118 cases with 792 deaths while Singapore has 16,169 cases and 14 deaths.
