Incumbent Congresswoman Evelina “Nanay Eve” Escudero, the mother of Senator-turned-Governor Francis Escudero, retains her seat in the First District Congressional race by generating almost twice the votes of her challenger, Christine Balita. Escudero, who run under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), got 118,436.
NPC’s Ditas Ramos, the term-breaker of Second District Congressman Ding Ramos, also scored double the results of her closest contender, Bobet Lee Rodrigueza of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). Ditas got 110,264 while Rodrigueza only got 57,711.
Media personality Juan Escandor, Jr., only ranked fourt with 4,023.
