The mayoralty race in Iriga City is a rematch between cousins Mayor Madel Alfelor and Emmanuel Alfelor Jr. Madel is running under Liberal Party just like in 2016 while Emmanuel is under Partido Demokratiko Pilipino Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) after hopping from the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

Madel’s running mate is incumbent Vice Mayor Jose Villanueva Jr. Villanueva is being challenged by Wilfredo Rex Oliva of PDP-Laban.

Only five of the incumbent councilors are running leaving five seats open. All the incumbent councilors are in Madel’s line-up making Iriga’s LP a formidable team.
