Bicol University did not just pass the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT). It practically owned it.

From Daraga to Tabaco, from Polangui to Gubat, the entire BU system turned the national leaderboard into a sea of blue and gold — producing 13 topnotchers, four Top Performing School citations, and hundreds of newly licensed educators ready to enter classrooms across the country.

In a national exam where only 56.03% passed the Elementary Level and 73.10% passed the Secondary Level, BU delivered numbers that felt less like ordinary results and more like a full academic flex.

At the Elementary Level, BU produced 196 new licensed teachers, while 638 passed in the Secondary Level. But the real headline? The university’s campuses kept appearing in the national rankings like they had reserved seats there.

Leading the pack were BU Daraga graduates Catherine Monica Buan Lomerio and Rian Mary Jane Borromeo Pitero, who both landed at Top 3 nationwide with ratings of 94.40%.

By the time the Top 10 list came out, BU names were everywhere.

Then came the institutional rankings — and this is where things became even more impressive.

BU Daraga emerged as the No. 1 Top Performing School nationwide in the Elementary category for schools with over 100 examinees, posting a staggering 96.19% passing rate. BU Polangui followed closely with 98.48% in its category.

Meanwhile, BU Tabaco topped the country in the Secondary Level category with a jaw-dropping 98.57% passing rate, while BU Daraga also entered the national Top 5.

And yes, BU Legazpi recorded a perfect 100% passing rate in the Elementary Level.

Perfect.

No pressure.

Across the university system, the numbers remained consistently strong:
• BU Gubat – 96.30%
• BU Guinobatan – 90.91%
• BU Polangui Secondary – 90.98%
• BU BUCIT – 87.50%

For many families in Bicol, these are not just exam results. Every newly licensed teacher represents years of sacrifice, tuition struggles, commute stories, review sessions, and parents quietly praying that all the hard work would finally pay off.

This is why the March 2026 LET results feel bigger than rankings.

Because somewhere in these numbers are future advisers, future mentors, future public school heroes, and future teachers who will shape entire generations of Filipino students.

And once again, Bicol University showed that when it comes to teacher education, the “Tatak BUeño” is not just branding.

It’s becoming a national standard.
