The first time I was introduced to Naga City was in high school when we had a field trip which includes among others the visit to Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola Bottling plants. There, we were treated with soda of our choosing until our noses felt like bursting.
Years later, I also joined another field trip — a governance study trip where we were introduced to award-wining programs of the Naga City government. That trip helped cement my appreciation for local governance and the idea that delivering public goods and services in a decent yet-impactful manner is feasible.
