2,327 Medical frontliners inoculated in Bicol

The Bicol Region received a total of 17,600 doses of SINOVAC and ASTRA ZENECA Vaccine from March 4 to 10, 2021 according to the Department of Health – Center for Health Development in Regional Office No. 5. This is part of the allocation given to the region by the national government.

11,000 of the total doses are Astra Zeneca vaccines while the rest are Coronavac which had been developed by the Beijing-based biopharmaceutical company SINOVAC. Except for the 600 doses which had been allocated to military offices, the vaccines are for medical healthworkers.

As of March 10, 2021, total of 2,327 medical healthworkers have been vaccinated with Coronavac. 938 of these are from the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital, 450 from Bicol Medical Center, and 351 from the Bicol Region General Hospital and Geriatric Medical Center. The rest of the vaccinated frontliners are from the Naga Imaging Center Cooperative Doctors’ Hospital, Estevez Memorial Hospital, Sorsogon Provincial Hospital and Metro Health Specialists Hospital, Inc.

As of this writing, no report of vaccination yet with the Astra Zeneca vaccines.
