The Bicol Region recorded 65 new cases on Saturday, August 15, bringing the total number of cases to 1,060, according to the New Coronavirus (NCOV) tracker of the Department of Health (DOH) Central Office.
The NCOV Tracker also reported that active cases in the Region are 702 while deaths are 14.
The figures from the NCOV Tracker allegedly includes the 804 locally generated data as released by the DOH Center for Health Development in Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) as well as other sources. Locally generated data are based only on the COVID-19 test results from the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDL) and the Bicol Medical Center.

Based on the locally generated data, Region 5 has 804 confirmed cases 421 of which are active while 22 died. The DOH CHD-Bicol also recorded 10 new cases Saturday — 2 each from Albay and Camarines Sur, and 3 each from Naga City and Sorsogon.
Biklish has already called the attention of the DOH on the discrepancy of these figures but the department has still yet to comment.
