13 August Bicol Covid Update: DOH records 31 new cases, 1 death

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol recorded 1 death and 31 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of infected individuals in the region to 780.

Of the 31 new cases, 20 are from Albay (8 Legazpi City, 1 Bacacay, 1 Camalig, 6 Daraga, 1 Ligao City, 2 Tabaco City, 1 Polangui), 6 from Sorsogon (3 Prieto Diaz, 2 Bulan, 1 Sta. Magdalena), 3 Camarines Sur (2 Lagonoy, 1 Baao), 1 Naga City, and o1 Catanduanes (Bato).The 31 new cases are tagged as patients with local code Bicol#750 to Bicol#780 with details below arranged per Municipality/City/Province.

Death

Bicol#632, a 77-year old male from Legazpi City, was also reported as the 20th casualty in Region 5. He died at 10:30 o’ clock in the morning of August 12. His cause of death is Acute Myocardial Infarction, COVID19 Confirmed, and Critical Pneumonia.

Recoveries

Meanwhile, 57 new recoveries were recorded. 37 of these is from Naga City, 4 from Albay, 3 from Camarines Sur, and 13 from Legazpi City.

Cases nationwide

Total cases in the Philippines now climbed to 147, 526 with the addition of 4,002 cases on Thursday. Active cases is now 74,713 with recoveries numbering 70,387 and a death toll of 2,246.

The Philippines continue to rank first in Southeast Asia in terms of confirmed cases overtaking Indonesia by almost 15 thousand cases in a little over a week. It also ranks 22nd worldwide.

The top three countries in terms of Covid-19 cases are the United States with 5.2 million, Brazil with 3.2 million and India with 2.4 million.
