12 August Bicol Covid Update: DOH CHD Bicol records 40 new cases, 1 death

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) -Bicol recorded 40 new cases of COVID-19 in the Bicol Region on Wednesday bringing the total confirmed cases to 749. One death due to said virus was also reported.

Of the 40 new cases, 24 are from Albay (9 Legazpi City, 5 Ligao City, 6 Tabaco City, 3 Daraga, 1 Malilipot), 7 are from Camarines Sur (5Tigaon, 1 Camaligan, 1 Magarao), 4 from Naga City, 3 from Catanduanes (1 Baras, 1 Virac, 1 Bato) and 2 from Sorsogon (1 Pilar, 1 Matnog).The 40 new cases are tagged as patients with local code Bicol#710 to Bicol#749 with details below arranged per Municipality/City/Province.

No recoveries have been reported Wednesday.

The 40 new cases are part of the 391 test results received by the DOH CHD Bicol. 388 of these are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC). Of the 391 test results, forty (40) are new positive. Breakdown of 351 negative results:Albay PHO -149, BMC – 2, BRTTH- 41, Camarines Sur – 78, Catanduanes – 27, Sorsogon – 2, Legazpi CESU – 37, and USI – 15.

Cases Nationwide

Meanwhile, the Philippines’ total of COVID-19 cases is now 143,749. Active cases is 72,348 as recoveries and deaths numbered 68,997 and 2,404, respectively.

The country remains top in Southeast Asia in terms of COVID-19 cases both active and cumulative.
