11 August Bicol Covid Update: Cases now up at 709

As of August 11, 2020, The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol confirmed 22 new cases of COVID-19 leading to a total of 709 cases. 10 recoveries are also recorded Tuesday.

Active cases are 392.

New Cases

9 of the 22 newly recorded cases are from Masbate (4 Cataingan, 2 Mobo, 1 Pio V. Corpuz, 1 Milagros, 1 Uson); 7 are from Albay (Legazpi City); 2 are from Sorsogon (1 Donsol, 1 Bulan); 3 are from Naga City; and, one from Camarines Sur (San Fernando). These are described as follows:

Recoveries

A total of 10 recoveries have been reported by LGU to RESU on Tuesday.

  • Sorsogon – Bicol#391, Bicol#392Masbate – Bicol#344
  • Albay – Bicol#327, Bicol#377, Bicol#378, Bicol#379, Bicol#399, Bicol#429, Bicol#430

Test Results Received

A total of 389 test results were received Tuesday. 379 of the results are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while 10 are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).

22 of the 389 test results are the 22 newly discovered cases. Breakdown of 367 negative results: Albay PHO -2, BMC – 8, Camarines Sur – 40, Legazpi CESU – 44, Naga CESU – 33, Masbate – 183 and Sorsogon – 57.

Cases Nationwide

Meanwhile, the total number of cases nationwide is 139,538. Recoveries are 68,432 while deaths are 2,312. Active cases are 68,794.

The Philippines continue to rank first in Southeast Asia in terms of Covid-19 cases. Worldwide, the country jumped to the 22nd spot.

The United States continue to rank first worldwide with 5.138 million cases followed by Brazil with 3.06 million and India with 2.27 million.
