The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reports that of 445 test results were received Wednesday 39 of which are new confirmed cases of COVID-19. One death has also been recorded. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Bicol Region is now 551. Active cases are 293 while deaths are 14.
Of the 39 new cases, thirteen (13) are from Camarines Sur, nine (9) from Naga City, eight (8) from Albay, six (6) Camarines Norte, and three (3) from Sorsogon.

Due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, DOH CHD – Bicol adopts a new format showing a summary of cases per province. Concerned local chief executives have been individually informed of these cases hence releasing of details about the said patients is at their discretion guided by the provisions of the Data Privacy Act.
On Recoveries
A total of seven (7) recoveries have been reported and these are as follows:
- Bicol#175 – 23-year old female from Batuan, Masbate.
- Bicol#283 – 22-year old male from Camalig, Albay
- Bicol#284 – 27-year old male from Guinobatan, Albay.
- Bicol#285 – 32-year old male from Guinobatan, Albay.
- Bicol#286 – 26-year old male from Guinobatan, Albay.
- Bicol#295 – 29-year old female from Pilar, Sorsogon.
- Bicol#342 – 67-year old female from Legazpi City, Albay.
Breakdown of 404 negative results:
Albay PHO -1, BRTTH – 31, BMC – 94, Camarines Sur – 56, Catanduanes – 4, Masbate – 120, Sorsogon – 25, Legazpi CESU – 51, and Naga CESU – 45.
Nationwide cases
Meanwhile, the DOH registered 3,462 Covid-19 cases that the total number of individuals affected with the virus nationwide is already 115,980. Total number of recoveries is 66,270 while deaths is 2,123.
The Philippines remains second to Indonesia in terms of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia with barely 900 cases difference. The country has, however, overtaken Indonesia in terms of active cases and cases per million population. While Indonesia only has 443 Covid-19 cases for every 1 million population, the Philippines has 1,106.
