The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records on Sunday 19 new cases of Covid-19, one death, and 7 recoveries. Total Covid-19 cases is now 478 and 258 of them are active cases.

Of the 19 new cases, 12 are from Masbate (8 Placer, 2 Balud, 2 Uson), 5 from Albay (3 Daraga, 1 Legazpi City, 1 Tabaco City), and one each for Naga City and Sorsogon (Matnog). The newly recorded cases are identified as follows:

Death case

Bicol#473 who first experienced symptoms on July 27, 2020, was the only recorded cases in the region as of posting time. He first consulted on July 29, 2020 but reportedly died at 12 noon of July 30, 2020. He was cremated as protocol on infectious diseases. His history of exposure is to be established.

Bicol#473 is the 12th recorded death in Bicol Region and the 6th in the province of Albay.

Bicol#195 – 38-year old male from Tinambac, Camarines Sur.
Bicol#239 – 24-year old male from Bagamanoc, Catanduanes.
Bicol#241 – 22-year old female from Oas, Albay.
Bicol#242 – 32-year old male from Tabaco City, Albay.
Bicol#258 – 27-year old male from Legazpi City, Albay.

On test results received 

A total of two hundred three (203) test results were received today. One hundred ninety-five (195) are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while eight (8) are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).

Of the 203 test results, nineteen (19) are new positive. 

Breakdown of 184 negative results:
Albay PHO -2, BRTTH – 34, BMC – 4, Camarines Norte – 4, Camarines Sur – 27, Masbate – 68, Sorsogon – 27, and Legazpi CESU – 18.

Philippine Situation

Meanwhile, the Philippines broke again its record by posting 5,032 new cases on Sunday. Total cases in the country is now 103,185. Active cases is noted at 35,569 while deaths is 2,059.

In Southeast Asia, the Philippines remains second to Indonesia in terms of the number of cases but ranks first in terms of active cases.
