28 July Bicol Covid Update: 21 new cases, 1 death

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol received on Tuesday 292 test results 21 of which are positive of Covid-19. The newly recorded cases brings the total of Covid cases in the region to 401.

Active cases are two hundred thirty-one (230) as one death was also recorded.

Of the 21 new cases, nine (9) are from Naga City, eight (8) from Albay (5 Legazpi, 1 Daraga, 1 Rapu-rapu, 1 Polangui), two (2) from Sorsogon (both Bulan), and two (2) from Camarines Sur (1 San Fernando, 1 Canaman). The cases are identified as follows:

One death due to Covid-19 was also recorded Tuesday and she is patient with local code Bicol#351. She died at 3:26 this afternoon. The total recorded COVID-19 deaths in Bicol is now nine (9). Bicol#351 is a 40-year old Filipino female from Naga City. Her result came out positive for SARS-CoV-2 last July 25, 2020 and was transferred yesterday, July 27, 2020 at Bicol Medical Center (BMC). Strict burial/cremation protocol for infectious diseases will be followed for Bicol#351.

Meanwhile, the Philippines is catching up with Indonesia in terms of Covid-19 cases. Total cases in the country is now 83,673 with 26,617 recoveries and 1,947 deaths.
