The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records 8 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the total number of positive cases to 380. Active cases are 213.
All 8 cases are from Legazpi City, Albay – five (5) are close contacts of COVID-19 positive, two (2) with travel history, and one for verification.

Three (3) recoveries have been recorded today. Total number of recoveries in Bicol Region is now 162. The newly recovered cases are the following:
- Bicol#213 – 23-year old male from Tabaco City, Albay.
- Bicol #222 – 53-year old male from Oas, Albay.
- Bicol#223 – 36-year old male from Legazpi City, Albay.
The positive cases and recoveries are part of the165 test results received Monday. 143 of the results are from the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while 22 are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).
The breakdown of 157 negative results are as follows: Albay PHO – 29, BMC – 7, Camarines Norte – 9, Camarines Sur – 1, Sorsogon – 11, CESU Legazpi- 85, and NICC – 15.
Albay also has 5 suspects and one probable case of Covid-19.
Meanwhile, total Covid-19 cases in the Philippines is now 82,040. with 26,446 recoveries and 1,945 deaths. The Philippines continue to rank second to Indonesia in terms of the total number of cases. However, the Philippines ranks first in all of Southeast Asia in terms of active cases.
