26 July Bicol Covid Update: DOH records 18 new cases

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records 18 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Region 5. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Bicolandia is now 372. Active cases is 205.

Of the 18 new cases, six are from Albay (3 Legazpi City, 2 Manito, 1 Guinobatan), four from Camarines Sur (2 Goa, 1 Bula, 1 Sipocot), four from Naga City, and four from Sorsogon (2 Gubat, 2 Sta Magdalena).

Three recoveries have been recorded Sunday. Total number of recoveries in Bicol Region is now one hundred fifty-nine (159). The newly recovered cases are the following:

  • Bicol#152 – 28-year old male from Aroroy, Masbate.
  • Bicok#153 – 32-year old male from Aroroy, Masbate.
  • Bicol#154 – 24-year old male from Aroroy, Masbate.

A total of 278 test results were released Sunday. 244 are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while 34 are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC). The results include the 18 positive results mentioned above, 1 repeat test and 259 negative results.

The negative results are broken down as follows: Albay PHO – 84, BMC – 14, Camarines Sur – 23, Catanduanes – 15, Masbate – 7, Sorsogon – 62, CESU Legazpi- 44, and NICC – 10.

Meanwhile, the cases in the Philippines now has 80,448 positive Covid-19 cases. 26,110 have recovered while 1,932 died. In terms of confirmed cases, the Philippines ranks second only to Indonesia which has 95,418.
