23 July Bicol Covid Update: DOH records 18 new cases

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records 18 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Bicol Region bringing the total number of cases to 320. Active cases are 161.

Of the 18 new cases, eight are from Masbate, seven are from Camarines Sur, two from Sorsogon, and one from Naga City. The cases are described as follows:

  • Bicol#303 – a 33-year old Filipino female from Naga City. Her history of exposure and travel are for verification. She is asymptomatic.
  • Bicol#304 – a 24-year old Filipino male from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. He is a close contact of Bicol#290 and Bicol#296. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined.
  • Bicol#305 – a 56-year old Filipino male from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. He is a close contact of Bicol#290 and Bicol#296. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined.
  • Bicol#306 – a 53-year old Filipino female from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. She is a close contact of Bicol#290 and Bicol#296. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined.
  • Bicol#307 – a 21-year old Filipino female from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. She is a close contact of Bicol#290 and Bicol#296. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined.
  • Bicol#308 – a 49-year old Filipino female from Camaligan, Camarines Sur. She is a close contact of Bicol#290 and Bicol#296. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined.
  • Bicol#309 – a 19-year old Filipino male from Matnog, Sorsogon. His date of arrival from Antipolo, Rizal is for verification. He first experienced symptoms on July 14, 2020. He is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#310 – a 50-year old Filipino male from Donsol, Sorsogon. He consulted on July 18, 2020, and is admitted at Sorsogon Provincial Hospital. His history of exposure is to be established.
  • Bicol#311 – an 18-year old male from Masbate City. He arrived from Parañaque on July 16,2020. He first experienced symptoms on July 13, 2020. He is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#312 – a 43-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Taguig City on June 29, 2020. She had an exposure to 6 COVID-19 cases (Bicol#264 – Bicol#269). She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#313 – a 56-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Laguna on July 29, 2020. She had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#314 – a 47-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. He had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#315 – a 25-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. She had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#316 – a 21-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Laguna on June 29, 2020. He had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#317 – a 21-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. She had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#318 – a 37-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. His travel history is for verification. He had an exposure to 7 known cases (Bicol#264 to Bicol#269, Bicol#272). He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#319 – a 3-year old Filipino male from Ocampo, Camarines Sur. He arrived from Laguna on July 17, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
  • Bicol#320 – a 28-year old Filipino female from Ocampo, Camarines Sur. She arrived from Laguna on July 17, 2020. She first experienced symptoms on July

The 18 positive cases are part of the 292 test results received Thursday. 236 of these results are from the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while 56 are from the Bicol Medical Center (BMC). Two of the results are repeat tests while 272 are negative. The negative results are broken down as follows: Albay PHO – 17, BRTTH – 39, BMC – 37, Camarines Norte – 33, Camarines Sur – 27, Masbate – 75, Sorsogon – 15, CESU Legazpi- 20 and CESU Naga – 9.

Eight (8) new recoveries have also been recorded Thursday. Total number of recoveries in Bicol Region is now 151 while active cases are 161.

Those that recovered are the following:

  • Bicol#124 – 43-year old female from Legazpi City.
  • Bicol#151 – 1-year old male from Virac, Catanduanes.
  • Bicol#155 – 23-year old male from Legazpi City.
  • Bicol#179 – 32-year old male from Legazpi City.
  • Bicol#188 – 20-year old female from Virac, Catanduanes.
  • Bicol#189 – 22-year old female from Virac, Catanduanes.Bicol#190 – 23-year old male from Legazpi City.
  • Bicol#205 – 2-year old male from Virac, Catanduanes.

Bicol Region has three suspected cases of COVID-19 — two from Albay and one from Catanduanes.

There is also one probable case of COVID-19 from Albay.
