The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol records fifteen (15) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, July 18. The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in Bicol Region is now two hundred seventy-three (273). Active cases are one hundred fifty-three (153).
Of the 15 new cases, nine (9) are from Masbate, three (3) from Albay, and three (3) from Camarines Sur. The municipality of Nabua in Camarines Sur and the City of Masbate records its first case.

The newly recorded cases are described as follows:
- Bicol#259 – a 13-year old Filipino male from Naga City, Camarines Sur. He is from the same street with known COVID-19 cases. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#260 – a 22-year old Filipino male from Tabaco City, Albay. He arrived from Muntinlupa on July 2, 2020. He had an exposure to Bicol#234. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#261 – a 20-year old Filipino female from Tabaco City, Albay. She arrived from Quezon City on July 5, 2020. She is a close contact of Bicol#234. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#262 – a 28-year old Filipino male from Masbate City. He arrived from San Jose, Mandaluyong on July 16, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#262 is a welder.
- Bicol#263 – a 56-year old Filipino male from Balud, Masbate. He arrived from Parañaque City on July 12, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#264 – a 19-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Commonwealth Quezon City on June 29, 2020. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#264 is a computer attendant.
- Bicol#265 – a 21-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#266 – a 29-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Commonwealth Quezon City on June 29, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#266 is a computer shop operator.
- Bicol#267 – a 43-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Taguig City on June 29,2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#267 is a construction worker.
- Bicol#268 – a 49-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#268 is a farmer.
- Bicol#269 – a 26-year old Filipino male from Placer, Masbate. He arrived from Quezon City on June 29, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#270 – a 20-year old Filipino female from Nabua, Camarines Sur. Her date of arrival from Taguig is for verification. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#271 – a 26-year old Filipino male from Pili, Camarines Sur. He arrived from Muntinlupa on July 14, 2020. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility.
- Bicol#272 – a 23-year old Filipino male who is currently staying in Legazpi City, Albay. He arrived on July 16, 2020 from his permanent address in Antipolo City, Rizal. He is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#272 is a driver.
- Bicol#273 – a 31-year old Filipino female from Placer, Masbate. She arrived from Pampanga on June 28, 2020. She is asymptomatic and is quarantined at an LGU quarantine facility. Bicol#273 is a food handler.
On recoveries
Seven (7) recoveries have been recorded today leading to one hundred nineteen (119) in total. The following cases have recovered:
- Bicol#96 – 23-year old male from Aroroy, Masbate.
- Bicol#97 – 25-year old male from Aroroy, Masbate.
- Bicol#137 – 62-year old male from Naga City, Camarines Sur.
- Bicol#138 – 25-year old male from Naga City, Camarines Sur
- Bicol#139 – 34-year old female from Canaman, Camarines Sur.
- Bicol#140 – 12-year old female from Canaman, Camarines Sur.
- Bicol#141 – 10-year old male from Canaman, Camarines Sur.
On test results received
A total of two hundred eighty-seven (287) test results were received Saturday. Two hundred forty-five (245) are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while forty-two (42) are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).
Of the 287 test results, one (1) is invalid, and fifteen (15) are positive, as reported above.
Breakdown of 271 negative results:
Albay – 53, BRTTH – 10, Camarines Sur – 35, Catanduanes – 19, Masbate – 17, Sorsogon – 1, CESU Naga – 89 and CESU Legazpi – 47.
On probable and suspect cases
Bicol Region has two (2) suspects – one (1) from Albay, and one (1) in Catanduanes. The one (1) probable case in Bicol is from Albay.
Cases Nationwide
The Philippines remains second to Indonesia in terms of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia with 65,304. Recoveries are 22,607 while deaths are 1,773.
