The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reports 8 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the total cases in the region to 118. Active cases are thirty-four (34).
The 111th and 112th case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region are both from Naga City and close contacts of patients with local codes Bicol#91 and Bicol#92. Bicol#111 is a 39-year old Filipino male who is a construction worker while Bicol#112 is a 19-year old Filipino male who is a laborer. Both are asymptomatic and are quarantined.
The 113th case of COVID-19 is a 23-year old Filipino male whose permanent address is Gubat, Sorsogon. He currently resides in Sorsogon City hence case count is in the city. He has a travel history from Cebu City. Bicol#113 first experienced symptoms on June 21, 2020 and is admitted.
An 83-year old Filipino female from Gubat, Sorsogon is the 114th case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region. She had a travel history from Quezon City. She first experienced symptoms on June 26, 2020, same day she consulted. She was admitted at Metro Health Hospital in Sorsogon. She died on June 29, 2020 and was cremated immediately as a safety precaution. The test result confirming she was positive for COVID-19 was validated today. Bicol#114 is the oldest recorded case in Bicol Region as of date. She is also the 6th COVID-19 related death recorded in the Region.
The remaining four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 are all from Manito, Albay and had an exposure to patient with local code Bicol#93. All had a history of travel from Taguig City and arrived on June 24, 2020.
• Bicol#115 (Factory Worker) – a 35-year old Filipino female
• Bicol#116 (Housewife) – 33-year old Filipino female
• Bicol#117 – a 9-year old Filipino male
• Bicol#118 – a 12-year old Filipino male
All except Bicol#118, are asymptomatic. Bicol#118 first experienced symptoms on June 20, 2020. All four patients are quarantined at a COVID facility.
