16 June Bicol Covid Update: One case found in CamSur

The Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) – Bicol reports one new confirmed case of COVID-19 from Lupi, Camarines Sur bringing the total confirmed cases to 85. Current number of active cases is 10.

The 85th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 31-year old Filipino male from Lupi, Camarines Sur who arrived from Cebu on June 15, 2020. Patient is asymptomatic and consulted on the same day he arrived at Camarines Sur Provincial Medical Center. His sample was tested at the COVID-19 laboratory in Bicol Medical Center (BMC). Bicol#85 is currently on quarantine.

A total of 120 test results were received Tursday. 88 are from Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) while thirty-two (32) are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).

Of the 120 results received, one (1) is equivocal from BRDRL, and one (1) is positive from BMC as reported earlier.

Of the negative results, 23 are from the Provincial Health Office of Albay, 29 are from the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital, 6 are from Camarines Sur PMC, 35 are from the CESU Legazpi, 8 are from Camarines Norte Provincial Hosptital, and one from USI.

On Suspects and Probable, Bicol Region has 5 Covid-19 suspects. Three of these are from Albay, and two are from Sorsogon. There is only one probable case is from Masbate.

At the national level, the Philippines now records 26,781 Covid-19 cases. 1,103 are dead and 6,252 have recovered.

Worldwide, the total number of cases is now recorded at 8,051,732 with 437,283 deaths and 3,889,264 recovered. One in every four Covid-19 positive are in the United States.
