The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) recorded one new case Monday, June 1, bringing to 75 the total number of positive Covid-19 in Region 5.
The 75th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 23-year old Filipino male from Tigaon, Camarines Sur. He is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#67. Patient is asymptomatic. He was seen and tested at Bicol Medical Center via Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2 test. Bicol#75 is a Radiologic Technologist.
A total of 10 test results were received by the DOH CHD Bicol and all of these are from the Bicol Medical Center (BMC). No new results came from the Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) because of the scheduled decontamination procedures.
On test results received, Bicol#63, a health worker from Legazpi City, Albay tested negative for COVID-19 hence the new recovery recorded. Bicol#34, Bicol#44, Bicol#50, Bicol#52, Bicol#59, and Bicol#62 all from Albay have fully recovered.
Bicol Region has five (5) suspects – three (3) from Albay and two (2) from Sorsogon.
Meanwhile, confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country spiked to 18,638 after 862 new cases were registered. Deaths is at 960 and recoveries is at 3,979.
