29 May Bicol Covid Update: Cases now at 73

The Department of Health Center for Health Development in the Bicol Region (DOH CHD-Bicol) recorded 4 new cases Friday. Three came from the results released by the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM), and one from the Bicol Regional Diagnostic Laboratory (BRDL). These bring confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Bicol Region to 72.

The 70th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 57-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay. Patient is asymptomatic, and is currently on quarantine. His history of exposure is still for validation.

Bicol#71 is a 10-year old Filipino female from Labo, Camarines Norte. She is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#61. Bicol#71 is asymptomatic and is on quarantine at Labo Quarantine Facility.

A 53-year old Filipino female is the 72nd confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region. She is a close contact of Bicol#61. Bicol#72 is asymptomatic and is also on quarantine at Labo Quarantine Facility.

The 73rd confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 32-year old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay. He has a history of travel from Cavite and Laguna. He arrived in Legazpi City last May 25, 2020. Patient is asymptomatic and is currently on quarantine at Legazpi City Community Health Quarantine.

A total of 233 test results were received by the DOH CHD-Bicol on Friday. 67 test results are from the RITM, 153 from the BRDRL while thirteen 13 are from Bicol Medical Center (BMC).

Of the 233 test results, five are positive. Aside from the four new confirmed cases recorded today, Bicol#54 from Legazpi City, Albay still tested positive for COVID-19.

Breakdown of the negative results today for COVID-19:
PHO Albay – 47, BRTTH – 61, BMC – 9, Camarines Norte – 55, Camarines Sur – 12, Catanduanes – 3, Sorsogon – 8, CESU Naga – 4, and CESU Legazpi – 29.

On recoveries, patients with local code Bicol#44, and Bicol#62, from Daraga and Legazpi City respectively, yielded their negative results hence the new recoveries for today.

Bicol#37, Bicol#38, Bicol#41, Bicol#43 and Bicol#49 all from Albay are now fully recovered.

Meanwhile, total Covid-19 cases shot up to 16,634 after 1,046 were recorded Friday. Deaths are now at 942 while recoveries at 3,720
