26 May Bicol Covid Update: Cases stable at 68

The number of Covid-19 cases in the Bicol Region remains at 68 for six straight days according to the Department of Health Center for Health Development in the region (DOH CHD-Bicol).

The DOH CHD-Bicol also confirmed receiving a total of 73 test results were received from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). 72 of these yielded negative while one repeat swab tested positive.

Bicol#55, an 18-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay still tested positive for COVID-19.

Of the seventy-two (72) negative test results received today, thirty-one (31) are referred from Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH), thirty-four (34) are from Albay, nine (9) are from Camarines Sur, and two (2) are from Sorsogon.

On recoveries

Bicol#64, a 47-year old nurse from Daraga, Albay yielded her 1st negative swab via RT-PCR. Said patients is clinically recovered but must undergo quarantine for another 14 days and repeat swab thereafter.

Update of BRDRL

The Bicol Regional Diagnostic and Reference Laboratory (BRDRL) started testing samples today. Test results might be available tomorrow.

On Suspects and Probable

Bicol Region has twenty one (21) suspects and three (3) probable cases. Fifteen (15) suspects are from Albay, five (5) are from Sorsogon, and one (1) from Camarines Sur. On probable, one (1) is from Albay while two (2) are from Camarines Sur.

Meanwhile, total cases in the country is now at 14,669 with 886 deaths.

The Philippines now ranks fourth in Southeast Asia in terms of Covid-19 cases. Ranking firat is Bangladesh with 35,585. Singapore which used to rank first slid to second place with 32,343 cases. Indonesia ranked third with 23,165 cases.
