24 May Bicol Covid Update: Cases still at 68

The Department of Health Center for Health Development in Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) reported that as of Sunday, May 24, Covid-19 cases in the Bicol REgion remains at 68.

The DOH CHD-Bicol received 19 test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM). One of these is a follow-up test which still yielded positive for COVID-19. He is Bicol#63, a 33-year old Filipino male from Daraga, Albay.

On recoveries, Patient with local code Bicol#58, a 48-year old nurse from Daraga, Albay now tested negative for COVID-19 via RT-PCR. Said patient is clinically recovered but must undergo another 14-day quarantine and repeat swab thereafter. Current actively confirmed cases are fifteen (15).

Bicol Region has16 suspects and four probable cases. 14 suspects are from Albay while two are from Sorsogon. On probable, two are from Albay while two are from Camarines Sur.

The Philippines continue to rank third in terms of Covid-19 cases in Southeast Asia. As of this writing, the country has 14,035 positive cases and 868 deaths. Recovery is 23.15% or 3,249.
