The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol records two (2) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 6 – both are healthcare workers. The total number of COVID 19 cases in Bicol is now at forty-nine (49). The total number of healthcare workers infected of COVID-19 in the region is now at thirteen (13).
The forty-eighth (48th) confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 46-year old Filipino female from Daraga, Albay. She is currently asymptomatic and was swabbed at Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) on May 4, 2020. She is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#41.
Bicol#49 is a 31-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay. Said patient also had an exposure to Bicol#41. She was also swabbed at BRTTH on May 4, 2020, and is asymptomatic.
Seventy-two (72) test results yielded negative for COVID-19 on May 6, while four (4) are positive. Aside from the two new confirmed cases, Bicol#41, a 45-year old female from Legazpi City, and Bicol#42, a 39-year old female from Daraga, Albay are still positive for COVID-19.
All five (5) patients (Bicol#36, Bicol#37, Bicol#38, Bicol #40, and Bicol#43) reported negative yesterday, are now discharged hence the new recoveries for today. All discharged patients are still stricly mandated to follow 14-day quarantine and isolation. Current confirmed cases in Bicol is now at ten (10).
Meanwhile, the Philippines breached the 10,000 mark. Current cases is now at 10,004 with 658 deatha.
