The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) reports one (1) new confirmed case Tuesday, May 5, bringing the total number of COVID 19 cases in Bicol to forty-seven (47).
Bicol#47 is a 27 year-old Filipino male from Legazpi City, Albay. He is a close contact of patient with local code Bicol#44. He first experienced symptoms on April 30, 2020. Said patient consulted and was swabbed on May 3, 2020. He is currently on quarantine at a Local Government Unit quarantine facility.
Fifty-seven (57) test results yielded negative today, while two (2) are positive. Aside from the new confirmed case, Bicol#35 from Legazpi City, Albay is still positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, five (5) current cases including three (3) frontliners and the 11-month old female now yielded negative for COVID-19. Bicol#36 (health worker), a 28-year old female from Legazpi City, Bicol#37 l(frontliner), a 54-year old male from Legazpi City, Bicol#38(health worker), a 56-year old female from Ligao City, Bicol#40, an 11-month old from Ligao City and Bicol#43, a 57-year old female from Legazpi City, now tested negative for COVID-19, and awaiting disposition by the attending hospital staff.

The Philippines continue to remain third in Southeast Asia in terms of Covid cases. Total Coronavirus case im the country is 9,864 with 638 deaths.
