The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) recorded three (3) new COVID-19 cases in Region 5 as of 21 April 2020 making the number of infected persons at 28.
The 26th confirmed case is a 17-year old Filipino female from Naga City, Camarines Sur and is considered as the youngest Covid-19 patient in the region. She first experienced symptoms on April 18 and is still admitted at the Bicol Medical Center (BMC). History of exposure is still being established.
A 21-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay is the 27th confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol. She consulted at Albay Provincial Health Office on April 19 for a possible exposure. She is currently quarantined at a facility. Patient is asymptomatic. She is a nurse, and the second health worker positive of COVID-19 following Bicol#22.
The 28th confirmed case of COVID-19 is a 78-year old Filipino male from Guinobatan, Albay. He has no travel history nor exposure. Onset of Illness is on April 11, 2020. The patient is admitted at the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH). Bicol#28 is now the oldest confirmed case recorded in Bicol Region.

On Released Test Results
On test results released Tuesday, 4 samples are positive of COVID-19. Aside from the three (3) new confirmed cases, test result of patient with local ID number Bicol#16 is still positive. Said patient is a 59-year old female from Naga City, Camarines Sur. She was a close contact of Bicol#12, the 1st recorded death in the region.
Five confirmed cases reported April 19, 2020 – with local ID code Bicol#20, Bicol#21, Bicol#22, Bicol#23, and Bicol#24, all from Albay, now tested negative for COVID-19.
On-going contact tracing is expected to yield more COVID-19 suspects.
