MANILA – At least 13 people died in Luzon and Visayas from the onslaught of the country’s strongest storm so far this year, police said Wednesday.
Five were killed in Bicol region, where Typhoon Tisoy made its first 2 landfalls, according to provincial police.
Of this number, one was electrocuted in Libmanan town and 2 drowned in Pili and Goa towns in Camarines Sur. Another drowned in Bulan town Sorsogon and one died in Sorsogon City.
Tisoy claimed 5 lives in Mimaropa, where it also hit land twice. Four people were from Oriental Mindoro while one died in Marinduque, police said.
Ildefonso Reyes delos Santos, Jessie Santos, and Bernabe Minay Lundag were hit by trees knocked down by Tisoy’s fierce winds, while Efren De Guzman-Cueto and Domindor Motol Lazo suffered from cardiac arrests.
