The Escudero clan made a show of force in Sorsogon province when Francis “Chiz” Escudero bagged 87.56% of the total votes cast in the eight-candidate gubernatorial race. Chiz is with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).
The clan also controlled not only the vice gubernatorial post through Manuel “Wowo” Fortes, Jr., and eight of the ten elective seats in the provincial board. Among those who occupied the seats is Krunimar “Jun” Escudero who garnered the highest votes ever delivered for the member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
Aside from Jun Escudero, the other NPC winners in the first district are: Butch Ravanilla, Ed Atutubo and Junjun Mella. Only Ryan Dioneda, an independent candidate, made it in the top five.
In the Second District, the NPC top vote-getters are: Arze Glipo, Roland Anonuevo, Ton Erlano and Juan Guysayko. The only non-NPC who was assured a seat is Marnellie Robles.
