The incumbent mayor of the island municipality of Rapu-rapu, Albay, Mayor Ronald Galicia, is seeking reelection under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). He is being challenged by independent candidate, Fiel Vizcaya.

In the vice mayoralty race, incumbent Nora Onate (PDP-Laban) is also seeking reelection, She is being challenged by Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS) candidate Amando Dela Cruz, Jr.

Sixteen are also competing for the Sangguniang Bayan seats. The challenge, especially for the newbies is that seven of the eight councilors are seeking reelection.
