Paracale, Camarines Norte incumbent Mayor Lourdes Briguera is seeking reelection but this time under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) banner. She jumped from the National Unity Party, her party of choice in 2016. Romeo Moreno, who is now NUP’s standard bearer, will challenge her in the mayoralty race along with Adonis Salen.

In the vice mayoralty race, Vice Mayor Bernadette Asutilla will also be seeking re-election. This time, she will be under the NUP banner. She used to be the running mate of Salen under the Liberal Party last 2016.

Asutilla will have a rematch with Angelo Timoteo Molina of PDP-Laban. Molina lost to Asutilla by a little over 4,000  votes in a three-cornered race. Will Molina make it this time that there is no more third contender?

There are also three contenders for every seat in Sangguniang Bayan. Six of the incumbent councilors are seeking reelection and may have high chances of winning.
