Bicol is off to an early start.

As of February 19, 2026, 8:00 a.m., a total of 195,683 learners in Region V have completed early registration for School Year 2026–2027.

The numbers are almost evenly split:

  • 97,313 male learners
  • 98,370 female learners

A balanced turnout—and a strong signal that families are preparing ahead.

Where the Numbers Come From

The early registration covers incoming students for:

  • Kindergarten – 40,795
  • Grade 1 – 67,724
  • Grade 7 – 45,651
  • Grade 11 – 41,513

These entry and transition levels are critical. Kindergarten and Grade 1 represent first-time school entrants, while Grades 7 and 11 mark key academic transitions to junior and senior high school.

Early Count vs. Projected Enrollment

DepEd Region V projects 470,342 enrollees for Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 combined for SY 2026–2027.

With nearly 200,000 learners already registered early, the region is gaining valuable lead time for planning—before the official opening of classes.

Early registration data allows schools to:

  • Estimate classroom and teacher requirements
  • Plan learning materials distribution
  • Organize sections more efficiently
  • Reduce last-minute enrollment congestion

In short, early data leads to better preparation.

100% School Participation

Another milestone:
All 4,049 public elementary and secondary schools in Region V have submitted their early registration reports—achieving 100% participation.

Likewise, all 13 Schools Division Offices (SDOs) in the region reached full compliance.

This complete reporting strengthens the reliability of the regional data and ensures that planning decisions are based on comprehensive information.

What This Means for Bicol

While discussions on classroom shortages, teacher deployment, and infrastructure improvements continue nationwide, Bicol’s early registration turnout reflects a proactive education community.

Families are preparing early.
Schools are reporting on time.
The system is responding with data-driven planning.

If the current trend continues, Region V is poised for a well-prepared opening of classes for SY 2026–2027.

For more information, stakeholders are encouraged to coordinate with their respective Schools Division Offices or the DepEd Region V Policy, Planning, and Research Division.
