Malilipot, Albay goes for the Liberal Party. Cenon Volante, the head of the LP chapter in town, had the incumbency advantage and was re-elected for another term with 69.11% votes.
Vice Mayor Rolando Volante who is now with Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (LAKAS), however, did not get another term as he was beaten by Jose Bolanos, the running mate of Mayor Cenon. Bolanos got 54.66% of the votes cast as against Lando Volante’s 45.34%.
In the Sangguniang Bayan, the seats were equally divided between LAKAS and LP candidates.
