Beatriz Maria Mabalay, a Sorsoganon who is part of Bicol Vulcans, broke the Palarong Pambansa record for 50-meter breaststroke last July 12, 2024 at Cebu City Sports Center.

Mabalay registered 34.35 seconds in said events beating the record of 34.74 that was registered by Clara Yzabela de los Santos of Metro Manila.

Mabalay is a student of Bulan National High School.
