The Department of Health Center for Health Development – Bicol (DOH CHD-Bicol) records the 1st confirmed case of COVID-19 in the province of Sorsogon, and another new case in Albay. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the region is now at sixty-six (66).
A 37-year old Filipino male from Matnog, Sorsogon is the 64th confirmed case of COVID-19 in the region. He has a travel history from Florida, USA. He consulted at Dr. Fernando B. Duran Sr. Memorial Hospital (DFBDSMH) and is admitted. Bicol #65 is asymptomatic but was swabbed due to his travel history.
The 66th confirmed case of COVID-19 in Bicol Region is a 21-year old Filipino female from Legazpi City, Albay. Patient consulted on May 3, 2020 and is currently quarantine. She was swabbed by the Albay Provincial Health Office. Bicol#66 is asymptomatic. Her history of exposure is being validated.
Covid-19 cases in the Philippines continue to increase after 258 cases were recorded on Thursday, May 14. Total cases is now 11,876 with 790 deaths.
