In Cataingan, the 2019 municipal elections is a tug-of-war between the Nationalist Peopple’s Coalition (NPC) and the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
Mayor Felipe Cabatana who jumped from the Liberal Party to PDP-Laban, is seeking re-election and is being challenged by Romeo Dalimocon Sr., of the NPC. Dalimocon ran as Councilor in 2016 but lost ranking 10th in a race for eight seats.
The seat to be vacated by Vice Mayor Bongbong Gonzales is being coveted by Thelma Ang (PDP-Laban) and Jaime Barte (NPC). Ang is an incumbent councilor.

Incumbent Mayor Ruben Jude “RJ” Lim is seeking reelection under the Partido-Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) banner. he is being challenged by Richard Alajar of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Rem Benisano, an independent candidate.
Incumbent Vice Mayor Clemente “Nonoy” Arguelles Jr., is being challenged by Felimon Abelita and Geilord Macuja. Arguelles will be running under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) while Abelita is running under PDP-Laban. Macuha is an independent candidate.

The 2019 mayoralty election in Baleno, Masbate will be a rematch between Ricardo Cabug who is running as independent, and Mayor Romeo dela Rosa who is under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) banner. Dela Rosa edged out Cabug in 2016 with a little over a thousand votes.
In the vice mayoralty election, incumbent Marites Dela Rosa will be uncontested. So with the eight councilors based on the initial list released by the Commission on Elections.

Except for Eric Castillo who is running for mayor under the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), all the municipal candidates of Aroroy, Masbate are trying to align with the Partido-Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). However, given the limited slots, only the incumbents were given certificates of nomination. This include Mayor Arturo Virtucio who is seeking re-election. Aside from Castillo, Mayor Virtucio is being challenged by Orencio Pusing who is running as an independent candidate.
In the vice mayoralty race, two independent candidates will be competing for the seat vacated by Vice Mayor Eric Castillo. These are Valentin Alonzo and Lino Canares.

The 2019 Congressional elections in Masbate is basically a duel of the National Unity Party (NUP) and the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
The Kho family is fielding Elisa and Wilton Kho in the Second and Third District Congressional races both under the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan banner. Elisa will be seeking reelection and will be challenged this time by Kaye Revil.
In the Third District, Dayan Lanete will compete with Wilton Kho and attempt to maintain the post to be vacated by Scott Davies Kho.
Meanwhile, in the First District, Narciso Bravo Jr. will takeover the post to be vacated by Ma. Vida Espinosa Bravo as the latter is vying for the Vice Gubernatorial post.
